Cine Super 8 Movies

Image
I have a couple of Cine projectors for Super 8mm and normal 8mm along with a couple of films but I have always wanted to have a go and making my own.  The problem is Cine films can be quite expensive to buy new and then get processed.  As I already develop my own 35mm b/w camera film at home I wanted to do the same for cine movies. After reading about home processing I managed to get a Russian made 8mm developing tank.  I have also got some old stock Kodachrome to try out and practice with before buying new stock Now to make this all possible I have also acquired a Chinon movie camera and a Fujifilm editor. Now all I need to do is find the time

Minolta Dynax 700si 35mm film camera

I have been having some trouble focusing my cameras recently so thought it was time to try and autofocus camera.  I do have the old Olympus OM30 with the autofocus zoom lens but it is rather clunky and wanted to try something more modern. So after looking around I decided to give the Minolta Dynax range a go.  I looked at the different models and reviews which took quite a while.  Eventually I settled on the 700si with two lenses.  I have just had a quick go with it so far but it looks good.  I shall give it a good test vs my OM4Ti soon.

Messing about with Cokin A series filters

Just got a couple of colour films developed as I haven't had a go at colour development yet.  I had them scanned at the same time as my scanner has died.  I forgot I had taken a few shots messing around with some Cokin filters.  Still a long way to go in learning about these These first three are using the Star 4 filter. First one is using the Red 003.  Which I this is too much. The nest few I think where using either the Gradual or Warm ones but I forgot to take a note of what I was using

Managed to get this lot shown in the photos for a very good price. The enlarger also includes lens and carrier for medium format so I can give that a try.

A couple of shots taken on my Olympus OM30 with Fujicolor C200 film.  The film was sent off to be developed and scanned.

First post and introduction

I am just getting back into photography 28 years after taking a course and college. I started thinking about film photography again in the new year when sorting out some boxes and I found my Grandad's old Cosina camera from the 70's. After that I found an alternative & traditional processes short course at a local college. So I searched online to buy the same type of cameras I used to use which were the Olympus OM range and was pleasantly surprised to see how affordable 35mm SLR cameras and lenses are now. After getting a few cameras and old books to brush up on my knowledge I then got all the stuff I needed to process my own BW films. So I started doing that just before starting my course and haven't stopped. The course was great and really got me back into the swing of things. I am currently setting up a temporary darkroom in my roof space which will be big enough for an enlarger and developing trays while I wash the prints downstairs. Eventually I want to setup a dar...
